I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 543

Chapter 543 The Cost

A sly smile appeared on Frank's face, the depths of his eyes darkening with meaning as he spoke. "Benjamin, do you know why she didn't tell you about the pregnancy right away? Have you ever wondered why she kept it from you? Or are you so certain that the child is yours and not someone else's? We've been together every day; surely you understand what 'familiarity breeds fondness' means, right?"

Frank added, "Moreover, why didn't she make any moves or tell you anything after she knew I was targeting the Martin Group and you? Haven't you ever thought about why? If she genuinely didn't care about me, she could have told you everything the moment she found out instead of waiting until you discovered it yourself."

Throughout Frank's entire talk, Benjamin remained utterly still and unresponsive, his face extremely grim as he kept his eyes fixed on Frank as he spoke.

Benjamin's expression pleased Frank immensely, his words becoming more and more unrestrained, more and more unguarded, with no intention of stopping.

With a grin, Frank continued, "Benjamin, do you even consider yourself a man? If I were you, I wouldn't dare admit it, aren't you embarrassed that your subordinates know? Do you think you've won? You've actually lost, the most miserably and thoroughly."

As Frank's last word fell, he was not met with words from Benjamin but a heavy punch that knocked him to the ground.

Frank had no time to react before Benjamin grabbed him by the collar and lifted him off the ground. His handsome face showed none of its usual gentleness and elegance, only a thick, fierce ferocity that he did not attempt to hide.

Without giving Frank any chance to resist, Benjamin followed the first punch with a second.
