I Refuse to Divorce novel (Zoe and Mason) novel Chapter 25

Holding her neck with one hand, Mason gripped the back of her with the other and pulled her toward him. Their foreheads were touching one another, and so were their noses and lips. His hot breath made Zoe tremble slightly.

She was a little entranced. Deep down somewhere, however, she felt that something was not right. She should not be doing this with him.

Just as he was completely turned on, Zoe leaned in and whispered in his ear, “When are we going to get divorced, Mason?”

He stopped, pinched her tender cheeks, and forced her to look at him. Zoe’s face was red, giving her a touch of sultriness. She looked at him quietly and muttered unconsciously, “Do you want to know something, Mason? I don’t love you. Not anymore!”

She repeated it several times. Mason was displeased. He pinched her chin and stared at her for a long time before uttering, “Do you think I care about that?”

Indeed, he did not need to. He did not love her because they had gotten married for all the wrong reasons from the get-go.

Thinking rationally, he knew he did not have to care about something as childish as love. All he needed was a submissive wife who could satisfy his carnal needs. Zoe, with her tender body, was one such person.

He just had to have his way with her the way he used to do. He would not go soft even if Zoe was crying miserably. But somehow, he did not have the heart to carry on when he saw her tears now!

Casting her aside, he threw a blanket on her. Then, he put on a bathrobe, went to the private lounge, and smoked on the couch.

His Adam’s apple moved gently as he smoked. It was a pleasant and sensual sight to behold. A thin wisp of smoke rose in the air and blurred him from view.

Mason did not want to admit that he was upset now, nor did he want to acknowledge the rage that swelled up within him when she said that she no longer loved him.
