"You're not eating? That's great."
Eudora stood up, picked up the plate of fried chicken, and prepared to place it in front of her and Chasel. "Chasel, they're not eating. Let's have it ourselves."
Just as she lifted the plate, Colbert stared at her with a sharp gaze. "I may not eat it, but Alva will."
He placed his fork on the edge of the plate of fried chicken and gazed at Eudora with a hint of threat in his eyes.
Eudora pursed her lips, glanced at Alva, and immediately said, "Alva won't eat such greasy food. It'll make her gain weight and look ugly. She'd better not eat it."
She thought it would be a waste to give it to Alva.
That was precisely why Eudora was initially reluctant to dine with them, but since the meal was expensive, she wouldn't have to pay if they ate together.
To save money, she had no choice but to endure her disgust and dine with them.
"Eudora, I... I'll eat it."
Alva said gently and shyly, her voice melodious and pleasant.
Seeing her pretentious behavior, Eudora felt nauseated.
She already knew Alva's true colors. Watching Alva act like a noble lady made her sick.
Suddenly, Eudora felt a little sorry for Colbert.
