Her weathered face was filled with apologies and guilt, and she never let go of Eudora's hand.
Eudora quickly noticed something was amiss, especially after Belinda had asked her about her youngest daughter's whereabouts. She asked tentatively, "Grandma, did you..."
Did she have Alzheimer's disease?
She didn't dare to say these words for fear of hurting Belinda's heart.
Unexpectedly, Belinda shook her head and sighed deeply, leading her to a nearby bench. "Yes, at first, I didn't believe it. But now, my mind is getting worse every day, and I keep forgetting things. I have to accept the fact that I have Alzheimer's disease. The things we are afraid of often have a way of appearing in our life."
What Eudora had always suspected was confirmed. She was not too surprised but calmly accepted everything.
"When did it happen? Does Colbert know?" She asked.
"It's been a few months, and I didn't dare to let Colbert know." She stared at Eudora with her cloudy eyes and patted the back of her hand. "Don't tell him, so he won't worry. Colbert is also a poor child."
Sitting in the park, Belinda and Eudora chatted and shared their thoughts.
Eudora was a quiet listener, responding to her from time to time.
After chatting for a while, she asked, "Grandma, what about Liana? Didn't she come with you?"
