Corey was taken aback momentarily and immediately understood what Colbert meant. He sighed dejectedly, "Those guys are stupid, and they messed things up. Ms. Stanford refunded the deposit and refused to take their jobs."
"Those good-for-nothings!"
Colbert said coldly.
Knock knock...
Suddenly, there was a knock on the office door.
Colbert raised his eyes, gazing at the person who entered the office. It was Derek.
He stood up unhurriedly and said, "Uncle?"
Corey turned around. When he saw Derek, he nodded and bowed. "Mr. Derek Steele, you are here. I'm going first."
Corey left them to have a chat.
Derek nodded but said nothing.
Corey walked out of the office and closed the door.
Now left one man standing and the other sitting in the office. They stared at each other, their deep and complicated gazes mixed with too many unpredictable feelings.
Colbert said, "Uncle, if you have something to say, you may as well say it."
He knew Derek too well. Derek would not come if he did not want to ask for something.
But in front of other people, he used to call her "Madam Steele".
Colbert took out a cigarette from the cigarette box on the table, held it in his lips, and lit it. He took a leisure puff and said indifferently, "I'll take care of this matter myself. You don't need to worry about it."
From his attitude, it was obvious that he did not want Derek to intervene in this matter.
But Derek just shrugged helplessly. He spread his hands and laughed, "But of course, I must obey my mother's orders."
Now, he changed his address to Belinda as "mother" instead.
Suddenly, Derek's phone rang in his pocket. He took it out, looked at it, and couldn't help but smirk.
