Anthony thought for a while and finally agreed reluctantly. "Sure. Just for your sake, I let her go. But next time, Derek, you can't interfere."
"Of course."
Derek raised his wrist and saw the time on his watch. "It's not yet eight o'clock. Let's go. I will thank you for treating you to dinner."
"Okay."
Anthony agreed.
"Uncle, since you have met a friend, Wendy and I will leave you two alone." Eudora picked up her satchel, pulled Wendy, who had been untied, and ran outside without waiting for their consent.
They ran for a long distance before stopping, as if they feared that Anthony would repent temporarily.
"Huh..."
Wendy panted heavily, and was exhausted.
Eudora glared at her; not only didn't feel sorry for her but slapped her on the head. "Damn it. Valuing lovers over friends, right? You'd rather put me in danger than have Derek fight Anthony?"
This damn love.
Eudora didn't know what to say.
"Oh, it hurts..." Wendy cried and covered her head with her hands. "Don't be angry. I know Anthony very well. He won't hit women but will never show mercy to men. I like Derek, so I subconsciously want to protect him."
Eudora suddenly felt her heart hurt. Wendy's explanation was even more hurtful.
Wendy blushed. She asked shyly, "Eudora, tell me. Does Derek like me too? Otherwise, why did he risk his life to save me?"
"Nonsense..."
"I know you called him. But he knew it was Anthony, and he was willing to save me. This is different."
Wendy clasped her fingers tightly. And as she spoke, a smile appeared on her face, both happy and ashamed.
"Therefore, are you going to commit yourself to him?" Eudora smiled playfully as if she was watching a play.
Wendy smiled. "If he wants, of course, I have no problem."
