Mildred's sudden question surprised Colbert.
He froze slightly while washing the dishes, and he subconsciously glanced at Eudora.
Eudora immediately pulled Mildred and said, "Mom, why are you asking..."
"I will marry a girl I like," Colbert said.
He straightened up and answered Mildred's question seriously, "I don't know about others, but with the current status of the Steele family, I don't need a commercial marriage."
Mildred's words were plain and straightforward, and how could he not understand her meaning?
Colbert's words made Mildred understand his thoughts.
"But there are countless temptations in the world, and rich people like to play tricks. You will lose your interest in a relationship soon," Mildred said.
She stared at Colbert without blinking, holding Eudora's hand.
When Eudora heard Mildred's words, she felt a little depressed.
Mildred was from the countryside, but what she said just now showed that she was really worried about Eudora's marriage.
Thinking of this, Eudora was moved.
Colbert looked directly at Mildred. Picking up a rag and wiping his hands, he walked to Mildred and looked at Eudora beside her.
It would be better to say it directly now.
"Mrs. Stanford, we haven't met many times, so you may not know much about me. I'm not that kind of person," Colbert said seriously.
"What about you and Alva?" Mildred asked.
Eudora was stunned.
She was leaning on Mildred's shoulder, but when she heard these words, she straightened up stiffly and said, "Mom, you know about this?"
She thought that it was difficult to get the news in the countryside, and her parents didn't have Twitter, so they wouldn't know about it.
But she never expected that Mildred would know everything.
