By the time Shi Nuan woke up the next day, she noticed the person who should be by her side was nowhere to be found. Feeling that the other half of the mattress was cold, she opened her drowsy eyes and sat upright. Indeed, no one was around.

A check on the clock on the nightstand revealed that it was almost eleven o’clock in the morning. Tapping on her head in shock, she became wide awake and brought herself out of the bed immediately.

The little girl stuck out her tongue after she finished her sentence. All of a sudden, Shi Nuan flushed with embarrassment. Glaring at her niece in return, Shi Nuan said, “You’re the lazy bum!”

Fu Chengyan got up from his seat and caressed Cheng An’s head. “An, your aunt has to spend more time in bed because she has to take care of the babies in her tummy.”

Staring at Shi Nuan’s abdomen wide-eyed, Cheng An asked, “Really?”

She stepped forward and approached Shi Nuan. As soon as she reached her aunt’s side, she held on to Shi Nuan’s sleeve and requested, “Aunt Nuan, could you please squat down and show me your babies?”

Cheng An couldn’t hold back her curiosity anymore. She had her eyes glued to Shi Nuan’s abdomen as she exclaimed, “It’s unbelievable! How did you stuff two babies in your belly? Are the babies the size of my fist?”

Immediately after she finished her sentence, the little girl raised her fist and compared it against her aunt’s belly.

“You’re right, An.” Shi Nuan’s heart melted because of her niece’s innocent behavior. She couldn’t help but wonder if her twins would turn out as cute as Cheng An.

“Since they’re only the size of my fists as of now, I have to protect them and let them stay in my belly for the time being!”

“Oh! If that’s the case, I’ll stop teasing you. Aunt, can I sleep with you in the future? I’ll try my best to protect your babies!” Cheng An blinked at Shi Nuan with her glistering pair of eyes. Shi Nuan couldn’t bear to turn down her innocent niece’s request. In the end, she pinched her niece’s chubby cheek and said, “Sure! Thanks, An! The babies will definitely appreciate your effort!”

“Hehe! Aunt, are you hungry? Let’s go grab something to eat!”

Holding Cheng An’s hand as they made their way to the dining hall, Shi Nuan replied with a bright grin on her gorgeous face, “Sure!”
