“Aunt Nuan, you’ve lost again!” Cheng An clapped her little hands and turned around to tell her uncle, “Uncle! Aunt lost again!”

“Really? You’re awesome, An!” Fu Chengyan pinched his niece’s nose. “Your aunt is exhausted. Why don’t you come over and play with me instead?”

As soon as he finished his sentence, he carried Cheng An and brought her to his side.

“Okay! Huh?” Cheng An nodded. It was then that the girl then caught a glimpse of the guests at the entrance.

By then, Shi Nuan and Fu Chengyan had also turned around and glanced at the entrance of the dining suite. They saw Su Shaoqing leaning against the door frame with a smile. “Hopefully, we’re not getting in the way of your little game.”

Shi Nuan then spotted Su Huaibei, who was behind Su Shaoqing. The smile on her face suddenly faded and was replaced with a stiff expression. She stood up. Although she had prepared herself, the moment she saw Su Huaibei, she couldn’t be sure if she should treat him courteously. Thus, things got awkward all of a sudden.

Fu Chengyan was the first to break the silence. He suggested, “Finally! Why don’t you come in and join us?”

“Ha! You’re right! I guess I must have indulged myself in such a heartwarming scene! I should have made my way in long ago!” Su Shaoqing entered the suite nonchalantly and looked at Cheng An once he reached the table. “Hello! What’s this little sweetheart doing here?”

Cheng An could vividly recall Su Shaoqing as he used to carry her when she was younger. However, ever since she started to wipe her tears and snots on him, he stopped cuddling her. They had not met for a while, and he was surprised that she had grown so much taller.

Shi Nuan was rendered speechless by the content of her husband and her friend’s conversation.

Caressing her niece’s head, she reprimanded the men. “Hey! Stop blurting out such nonsense in front of An! Although she’s a child, she’s able to comprehend the meaning behind your words!”

Thankfully, this exchange involving Cheng An helped to lift the dull ambiance caused by Su Huaibei’s appearance. Fu Chengyan got up from his seat and ushered Su Huaibei and Su Shaoqing over to their seats.

Since this meet-up was, after all, arranged at the eleventh hour, Shi Nuan was feeling awkward and had a hard time behaving like her usual self.

“This! This! This!” Cheng An started pointing at the photos she saw on the menu. She decided to have everything that seemed appealing to her.

Meanwhile, Fu Chengyan put the menu aside and told the manager to serve them something that would be suitable for a pregnant woman.

The manager was a little stunned but then he quickly nodded. “Alright! I’ll go get everything ready at once!”

Once the manager left, silence fell in the suite once more.

Shi Nuan could not get used to such a quiet environment. Feeling uneasy, she raised her head to look at Fu Chengyan before taking a peek at Su Huaibei.

She noticed Su Huaibei seemed to be different since their last encounter a few days ago. He seemed to have gone to great lengths to dress himself up properly. However, she felt uneasy because he carried himself in a very rigid manner.

The awkwardness subsided when Shi Nuan brought Cheng An out of the suite because the latter had an upset stomach. While the ladies were in the washroom, the three men were left staring at each other in the suite. Eventually, Su Shaoqing couldn’t take it anymore.
