Shen Qianan was unaware that she had slept until the afternoon. She could not help but feel annoyed. “I’ll change my clothes first before heading downstairs. You may leave!”

After seeing the servant leave, Shen Qianan headed into the bathroom. She quickly washed up and changed before going downstairs.

Shen Qianan walked a little slow as the throbbing pain between her legs made her expression change. Instinctively, she glanced at the servant beside her, but she acted

like she did not see anything and looked straight ahead. “Enjoy your meal, Mrs. Fu,” said the servant.

“Don’t call me Mrs. Fu!” Shen Qianan reprimanded, “Call me Ms. Shen! I have nothing to do with Mr. Fu!”

The servant eyed Shen Qianan with an odd look and added, “Enjoy, Mrs. Fu.”

Shen Qianan took in a deep breath as she was agitated. However, knowing the servant would not do as she said, she stopped arguing with the former.

After having her meal, Shen Qianan did not see Fu Sijue for many hours afterward, even at night. It somehow made Shen Qianan feel a little uneasy, but she could not understand the origin of the insecurity.

Until it was late at night, Shen Qianan did not see Fu Sijue. She could not help but sigh in relief. However, perturbation filled her mind and made Shen Qianan somewhat restless.

She paced around the room and dared not stop for a moment.

When Shen Qianan opened the door and walked out, she was surprised to see multiple servants standing by the door. “What are you doing here?”

“Mr. Fu is worried you will be scared to sleep at night, Mrs. Fu,” explained one of the servants.

An inexplicable frown formed on Shen Qianan’s face. “Where’s Mr. Fu? Where is he? I want to see him.”

The servants kept quiet, and their silence only made Shen Qianan more annoyed than she already was. “I’m asking you a question. Where is Fu Sijue?” she demanded.

“Mr. Fu is busy with some work. I will inform Mr. Fu if you miss him,” replied the servant.

Enraged, Shen Qianan shot a fierce glare at the servant and slammed the door shut. Doing so did not successfully alleviate her anger, so she followed up with a heavy kick to the door. On the other side of the door, she heard a faint thud. It sounded as if something had fallen to the ground.

After hesitating for a while, Shen Qianan walked to the door and was about to open it, but someone twisted the doorknob from the outside. Shen Qianan quickly stepped back and hastily grabbed a lamp from the bedside table. Once she saw the figure come in, Shen Qianan raised her arm and prepared to hit the intruder. However, she was not a match for the person. Her hand was restrained tightly in the air, and she could not move an inch.

“How have you been?” A mischievous voice echoed from the top of her head. Shen Qianan felt a chill running down her spine when she heard that voice, causing her to tremble.

She lifted her head to look at the intruder and met his eyes. His eyes were dark as a bottomless abyss, and there was a glint of evil in them. Shen Qianan was stunned for a moment. The man’s face was utterly unfamiliar to her, but those eyes of his felt rather similar to Fu Sijue’s. Fu Sijue’s gaze was cold, but the eyes of the man in front of her harbored evil.

“Who are you? I don’t know you!” yelled Shen Qianan.

She tried to struggle out of the man’s grasp but to no avail. He was simply too strong for her, and she could not budge at all. “Let go of me!” she yelled once more.

“You don’t know me?” Yun Shen stroked his chin; there was a glint of mockery in his eyes. He clicked his tongue and continued, “Ms. Shi, we are supposedly old acquaintances. Even though we haven’t met for a long time, there’s no way you would forget me. After all, I did save you multiple times back then.” Ms. Shi?

Shock flitted across Shen Qianan’s face. When she regained her senses, she exclaimed, “I’m not Shi Nuan!”

This time, it was Yun Shen’s turn to be shocked. His mischievous gaze landed on Shen Qianan as he found it hard to believe that there would be someone on earth that resembled Shi Nuan so closely.

Glancing at her face as if examining something, Yun Shen said, “Right! Although you two look alike, your composures and characters are different. Also…” Yun Shen’s gaze fell upon Shen Qianan’s stomach. “You’re not pregnant.”

Shocked at first, Shen Qianan stared at Yun Shen after hearing what he said. “Who are you? How did you know Shi Nuan?”

Shen Qianan noticed the man did not harbor vile intentions, but she still disliked the tone of his voice. “I asked you first.”
