“Grandpa? Is Grandpa back?” Yu clearly knew who Shen Qianan was referring to, and the latter nodded in response. “Yes, the Grandpa who gives you candies.”

Shen Qianan took Yu to the mall to get a gift before heading to the given address. She glanced up at the towering condominium building and checked in with the guard. Someone answered the door promptly when she pressed the doorbell. “Is An here?” “Yes, Godfather.” Shen Qianan flashed a smile at him. “It’s been a while, Godfather. How are you doing?”

“I’m great. Quick, come in and have a seat.” The older man invited her in. His eyes studied her before he nodded and shifted his gaze to Yu. “Yu grew taller and has put on some weight now. Not bad!”

“Grandpa!” Yu was too shy to approach the older man, so he shook his hand instead. “Did you miss me, Grandpa?”

“Of course I did. Why wouldn’t I? Come and give me a hug!” The older man hefted Yu up and went into the living room. Shen Qianan followed them and noticed there was another person inside. The person turned around and smiled at her. “How are you, Ms. Shen?”

“You!” Shen Qianan’s face fell, and she froze on her spot.

Her incredulous gaze bounced between the man and her godfather. “Give me back my son!”

“Mr. Fu, Ms. Shen has parked her car and went shopping at a nearby mall.” Zhou Zheng stared at the tracker on the computer screen, noting that Shen Qianan’s car had stopped before resuming its journey. “After that, she drove to… Is that Nubarron Villa?”

“What about now?”

“Ms. Shen appears to be headed to Luceras, bound for Sheen City.” Zhou Zheng stared at the tracking dot on the map in disbelief.

His words caused Fu Chengyan to go on high alert and frown. “Email me a screenshot of the map.”

Zhou Zheng immediately did as told, and Fu Chengyan stared unblinking at his computer screen, his frown deepening.

“Is Ms. Shen okay, Mr. Fu? Why is she being led to Sheen City?”

“No, they’re not going to Sheen City.” Fu Chengyan closed the screenshot with a solemn expression. He raised his gaze to Zhou Zheng a moment later. “Ask Zhou Zhi where is he now.”

Zhou Zheng promptly got on the phone. “Mr. Fu, Zhou Zhi said Ms. Shen went to Nubarron Villa and hasn’t returned yet.”

Fu Chengyan’s brows drew closer together as he tapped his long fingers on the table. “Send a couple of men to Sheen City to stop the car, then tell Jiang Hu to get to Nubarron Villa.”

His cold gaze returned to the screen again. “And keep this from Mrs. Fu.”

“Got it.” There was a film of sweat on Zhou Zheng’s forehead, and he was still in disbelief that a person could escape from under their noses.

“Look into all the people Shen Qianan has had contact with over the years outside the country and figure out where the hell this godfather came from!” That man’s appearance was too strangely coincidental. “Also, find out what Fu Sijue has been up to.”

“Our men have been closely monitoring Fu Sijue’s movement, and he has been holed up in the island villa. No one has seen him, and he hasn’t done anything suspicious. Mr. Fu, do you think he’s behind all of this?”
