"Well, I've been sleeping for a long time. So I decided to get up early today," Joe sat next to Jackson as he answered him.
Joe noticed Cherry wasn't there. "Where's Mommy, Daddy?"
"Mommy is still sleeping, Joe," Jackson answered. Jackson let Cherry get more sleep since he knew women needed to rest more when they were pregnant.
"Is Mommy okay? Is she sick?" Joe asked. Cherry always woke up before everyone else, unless she did adult stuff with his Daddy. But she was pregnant. Daddy couldn't do what he did to his Mommy, could he?
"No, she's not. She just needs to rest," Jackson answered and returned to his newspaper.
Joe turned to Jackson and asked," Daddy, did you do that thing with Mommy last night, that's why she's still sleeping?"
"No, Joe," Jackson replied, his eyes still on the newspaper.
"But -" Joe started but Jackson interrupted him.
Jackson removed his attention from the newspaper and faced Joe. "Joe, you know Mommy's pregnant, right? That's why she needs lots of rest, okay?" Jackson explained to his son.
Joe nodded," Okay, Daddy."
"Go play with your toys and eat your breakfast, Joe," Jackson turned back to his newspaper.
"Okay, I'm going to build a kingdom with my LEGO then. And I'll be the prince and marry a princess," Joe declared as he moved to the dining room.
Lily came out of the kitchen as Joe entered the dining room with his food. "Good morning, Joe, your breakfast is ready."
"Yes! Thank you, Lily!" Joe exclaimed as he dug into his food.
Lily smiled as she watched Joe enjoy his food.
"But, Lily, you need to spend more time cooking delicious meals for Mommy. Don't worry too much about me," Joe told Lily.
"Of course, Joe. Your Daddy already told me about your mommy. I'll be sure to take care of her really well," Lily reassured Joe. She was very fond of Cherry and wanted her to have a good pregnancy and give birth without trouble.
Joe nodded," Thank you, Lily. You can go take care of her now. I can finish my food by myself."
"Of course, Joe," Lily smiled at him before she returned to the kitchen.
Cherry woke up, with the sun shining brightly through the open window. She stretched her arms wide and reached for the clock on the bedside table and discovered it was already noon.
The door opened and Jackson walked in.
"Hi, honey," Cherry greeted him, as she sat up on the bed.
"Did you just wake up? Are you hungry?" Jackson approached Cherry and sat beside her on the bed, his hand stroked Cherry's hair.
Cherry massaged her stomach area. "A little bit," she answered.
"Okay, why don't you get dressed and come down? Lily already prepared lunch," Jackson told Cherry.
"That sounds good. I don't know what I do without Lily," Cherry said, as she stepped off the bed.
"I know. But I take good care of you, too," Jackson teased Cherry.
Cherry laughed," Do you really?" She hugged Jackson, and continued," But honey, promise me we'll keep Lily forever, to take care of us. Even if we have to raise her salary, okay?" Cherry pleaded with her eyes.
"What you said, Daddy," Joe didn't look up at Joe and kept playing.
Cherry and Jackson shook their heads at Joe's indifference.
Jackson cupped Cherry's face in his hand. "Honey, you know better than to believe what Joe said."
"How can you say that about your gifted son, Daddy?" Joe answered before Cherry could say anything.
Jackson glared at Joe," Just play with your toys!" He softened his face and turned back to Cherry," Don't be angry. Come on, let's eat together."
Cherry sighed," Alright. But just a little. We're having dinner with Jean and Mond later."
"Eat as much as you can, because you have to feed the baby, too," Jackson replied.
Jackson accompanied Cherry at the dining room, as she ate the food Lily prepared.
When she finished her last bite, Jackson asked Cherry," It's a nice day out, do you want to take a walk?"
"That sounds like a great idea," Cherry agreed. She wanted to get some fresh air anyway.
Cherry went back to the living room to check on Joe. "Joe, once you're done playing, go upstairs and do your homework, okay?"
"Yes, Mommy. I'll do my homework after I build the castle. I will always obey you, Mommy," Joe replied without looking at Cherry and Jackson.
Cherry shook her head but left him alone.
Cherry followed Jackson out the front door.
