"Of course! It's so simple! I see it now," Joe exclaimed, a his cheeks colouring a little red. He looked at Jackson. "Daddy, I am so silly that I didn't even consider that in my thinking!" Joe admonished himself.
"Well, just now I saw someone showing off haughtily and overconfidently. I heard he was very good at playing games," Jackson said exaggeratedly. Joe was so smug and self-satisfied with his Grandma, but now he just seemed to be depressed. Jackson was curious to see how the little Chu would react.
Jacob and Elsa shared a look, laughing together and enjoying the father-son banter.
"I was wrong, Daddy! I shouldn't be so cocky," Joe declared, pouting. 'Daddy should spoil me while Mommy is not here! This isn't fair!' Joe thought.
"No, you're not wrong," Jackson countered. "In fact, let's take a bet. If you beat me three out of five games next time, I will have you go to the US to learn computer hacking skills and technology when you grow up," he jokingly proclaimed. He couldn't be properly serious, because Cherry would have his head. She would never let her son be a hacker as an adult. She wanted Joe to be a pianist!
"Deal! Daddy, I love you!" Joe shouted gleefully, his pout nothing more than a memory gaping at his Daddy. Joe knew now that his Daddy did indeed spoil him, just like Mommy. He knew that if his Daddy supported him, he would certainly go to the US and become a top computer expert.
Jackson kept silent, instead turning his cheek towards Joe, wondering briefly if Joe remembered the meaning.
Without hesitation, Joe realised what his Daddy wanted. Immediately, he wrapped his arms around his Daddy's neck tightly and gave him a big kiss on the cheek.
"Mwah!" Joe's sweet kiss pleased his Daddy very much!
"You two are so interesting!" Jacob smiled. Joe and his father got along so well now, and Jackson could make fun in front of elders. It seemed that he had indeed changed quite a bit. No longer the cold and cruel man Jacob had thought, but a warm and emotional one, very tender and caring with his family!
"Joe, don't you feel weird about kissing your Daddy in front of us?" Elsa asked curiously with a smile. She loved the way the father-son pair got along, which just warmed her heart.
"Nope!" Joe declared loudly. "As long as my Mommy isn't here, I can do anything closely with Daddy. If she was here, she would be jealous of us, because Daddy is hers. If I am too close with Daddy, she will scold me and blame me for grabbing her husband," he added. Completing the little speech with a funny face and a childish tone made everyone chuckle.
Jackson was delighted to hear this. He hadn't realised he was so important in Cherry's heart. He thought that he and Joe were always striving for her favor, and he had never thought Cherry might be jealous of his closeness with Joe. How he wished Cherry were here so he could see that adorable face of hers contorted with anger and jealousy. He loved seeing her jealous face, and it helped remind him that she cared about him very much!
Affectionately looking on her grandson, Elsa sighed in relief. "You are a real little pickle! I used to worry that your Mommy would feel stuck and bored at home, but now it seems that my worry was completely unnecessary. You are a bit of a clown, and wherever you are will be full of laughter."
