Chapter 616
Cameron said, “Ask her to open her bag and we can check it”
Leonardo replied “Or you could call the cops and let them handle it”
Cameron shot Leonardo an angry look “Are you implying I do not dare to call the police?”
Leonardo shrugged “Whatever floats your boat”
“Nobody’s leaving until the cops get here Stay put,” Cameron pulled out his phone and dialed 911. After explaining the situation briefly he shot Cornelia and her friends a glare before storming off
The cops would take some time to arrive, so the spectators began to disperse. Some went to grab food, while others grabbed drinks, planning to refuel before the drama
continued
Once the others had left, Cornelia and her group found a place to sit.
Ryan eyed the necklace around Cornelia’s neck, partially hidden beneath her clothing. He leaned in and whispered, “Is that a star pendant on your necklace, Cornelia
Comelia nodded.
Ryan said, “Wow! So you’re the real owner of the Heavenly Radiance!”
It turned out that the buyer of the $30 million necklace in Paris a year ago was Marcus
Cornelia admitted, “He didn’t tell me I had no idea…”
The “he” she referred to was obviously Marcus. Ryan understood, “If he gave it to you, it’s gotta be legit.”
Leonardo asked, “What are you guys on about? I’m lost.”
“Nothing” Cornelia turned to Leonardo, “Mr. Wilson, I need a favor…”
Leonardo said, “Shoot!”
Cornelia said, “If I’m not mistaken, the necklace they’re looking for is probably in my bag.”
Leonardo took a deep breath “Thank God you didn’t let them search your bag. Who’s trying to frame you? How can I help?”
Leonardo didn’t suspect Cornelia of being a thief. His first thought was that someone was trying to frame her.
Cornelia grinned, “Smart!”
Leonardo glared at her, “You’re cracking jokes at a time like this?”
