Impulsive Vow to an Enigmatic Husband (END) novel Chapter 995

Chapter 995

Cornelia said, "I've just learned that your good friend Sallie has been invited to Rosenberg by the government of Rosenberg for a benefit event, and I'm going to go and be interviewed by them as the victim in the video."

It took a while for Marcus’ voice to get back, "Are you sure about this?"

Cornelia nodded, "Yes."

Marcus said, "Then go ahead. I've got your back.’

He didn't question her further, just reassured her. This touched Cornelia deeply, "You have nothing else to say? You're not considering stopping me?"

Marcus replied, "It's a good thing and it's your call. Why would I stop you?"

Cornelia asked, "Aren't you worried that once our relationship is out in the open, this could affect the Hartley Group's image?"

Marcus sternly said, "Cornelia, remember what I told you, the Hartley Group will always be your rock, not an obstacle in your path. If it ever faces any problem, it's due to my mismanagement,

not you."

He'd never worried about her affairs affecting The Hartley Group,

he'd only worried about her pictures coming out, that people would look at her differently, and that she would get hurt.

Cornelia was touched, but found herself at a loss for words.

Marcus asked, "Cornelia, why so quiet all of a sudden?”

"I've got things to handle. I'll call you later." With that, she hung up.

Cornelia raised her hand and rubbed Tahlia's head, "You're still young and have plenty of opportunities to try anything you want.’

"Okay. After a moment, Tahlia asked, "When I turned 18, the Reese family gifted me a house. I don't dare to live there now, should I return it?"

Cornelia responded, "Why would you return it? They bullied you for years. What's wrong with taking a house from them? If you're scared, we sell it and you can buy another one elsewhere.’

Tahlia said, "They probably won't agree to me selling the house."

Cornelia asked, "Isn't the house yours?"

Tahlia explained, "Yes, it's mine. But the Reese family has always managed it. They bought several houses in the same neighborhood and mine is just one of them. Now that I've left the Reese family and even changed my name, they haven't dared to bother me because of Mr. Hartley, but I guess they might try to get the house back."

Cornelia assured, "The house is yours, and they can't take it back without your consent. Don't worry, the Reese family is in a tough spot, they don't have time to scheme how to reclaim your house.”
