Grace halted her movements, and her heart quickened its pace.

She raised her gaze, staring at Xander blankly.

Xander was confused.

When her phone rang again, she finally answered the call.

"Gracie, why did it take you so long to answer the phone?" Lydia's voice came through the phone.

Grace cleared her throat, masking her emotions, and asked, "Why? Is something wrong?"

"Wait, Gracie, you sound so calm. Are you still unaware of what happened?"

Grace was puzzled. "What?"
