Seraphina pursed her lips. She took a sip of her coffee and gently set the cup down. 

“I accept your compensation.” 

He looked up sharply.

Her calmness was unexpected. 

“Are you sure?” 

His voice was deep. 

“But I won’t work with Jennifer, so she has to go. And this is your only chance to make amends.” 

Once this deal was done, they were even. 

It wasn’t necessary to keep bringing up that ugly past. 

Seraphina was still the one who suffered from it, wasn’t it? 

The room fell silent. 

She was the one asking for a favor, yet she laid out her terms with such confidence. 

There was probably no one else who could speak to Orion like that–except Seraphina. 

“Why?” Orion asked. 

As far as he knew, she had little to no dealings with Jennifer.

The reason was that it appeared to be the most natural thing in the world.

“Alright.” 

He agreed to her demand for compensation without hesitation.

She had accepted his compensation—did that mean their relationship still had a chance? 

Seraphina wasn’t surprised by his agreement. 

Immediately, she stood up and walked over to the desk. 

“I’ll have someone liaise with the Dros Group on this matter. Let’s keep it under wraps for now.”

“The fact that Mr. Dros is willing to agree to my terms is already generous compensation. Once this matter is settled, we’re done.”

Seraphina finished her remarks. Before Orion could respond, she picked up the phone and called 

Thomas. 

“Please escort Mr. Dros out.” 

“Yes, Ms. Cross.” 

Thomas arrived within seconds and knocked on the door.
