Chapter 539 Kaveh the J*rk
Lucius was seething with rage, nearly choking on his words.
Kaveh’s piercing, sharp gaze filled Lucius with a chilling fury. If looks could kill, Lucius would have gladly struck him down right there and then.
Even from across the room, Seraphina could feel the chilling indifference radiating from Lucius like a frozen wave.
As she sat there, she instinctively looked up and happened to catch the moment when Kaveh and Lila locked eyes with a deep, affectionate gaze.
She pressed her lips together and then silently lowered her gaze.
If Kaveh was serious, then there was nothing wrong with them being together.
If they were compatible, stay together. Otherwise, part ways. There was no need to rush into marriage right
away.
It was the same as her own marriage to Lucius–a union she had endured to the very limit before parting ways, leaving only hatred in its wake.
Who says that after a divorce, one can’t have a carefree love affair?
Besides, Kaveh might seem unreliable, but he wasn’t a bad person at heart.
After weighing things carefully, Seraphina had begun to think that Lila and Kaveh actually made a wonderful pair.
But Lucius was trembling with rage.
Before he could even raise his hand, Kaveh stepped in front of Lila, as though he was prepared to take the blow for her.
“Lila, you’re too good for Mr. Brown. He may not recognize your worth, but I will. I can’t bear to see you even the slightest bit upset. No matter what obstacles come our way, as long as we’re together, I won’t let anything harm you!”
For a moment, Seraphina saw the shadow of Jessica in his declaration.
She nearly raised her hand to slap Kaveh.
Lila was so moved that she was on the verge of tears, and those around them were envious of their heartfelt look toward each other.
Lucius, on the other hand, was a picture of discomfort; his expression changed rapidly, contorted in a look of pure disgust.
Kaveh’s words had sickened him.
He was using a woman as a shield!
How could a man be so low?

Chapter 539 Kaveh the Jerk
Seraphina couldn’t help but pity Lucius. What a pathetic man!
She couldn’t resist taking a sip of her soda water to calm her nerves.

Lucius clenched his fists so tightly his knuckles turned white, his veins bulging as he struggled to hold back his anger.
Abruptly, he pointed his finger at Seraphina while addressing Lila.
“Did you know that pretty boy originally liked Seraphina? He only gave up on Seraphina because he was afraid to cross Orion. That brat has a thing for divorced women, which is why he pursued you.
“Haha! You really think he likes you?”
Lucius’s words hit like a bombshell, startling everyone around them.
Seraphina nearly choked on her drink. She quickly looked up, her gaze icy as she locked
as she locked eyes with Lucius.
The small bit of pity she had felt for him moments before disappeared in an instant.
To say something like that publicly?
It seemed like Lucius was trying to get himself killed.
“That’s nonsense!”
Seraphina and Kaveh spoke in unison, both quick to deny the accusation with perfect synchronization.
Kaveh glanced at Seraphina and winked at her.
Seraphina lifted her chin, proud and graceful, exuding an air of cold nobility.
Their little flirtation had been entirely one–sided on Kaveh’s part; Seraphina had never reciprocated.
