Seraphina pressed her lips together and walked over. 

“Mr. Rockwell, you’re still here?” 

“I was hoping we could have dinner together.” 

Wilson smiled warmly and casually took her bag from her hands.

The easygoing gesture, paired with his thoughtful demeanor, was exactly what a good boyfriend would do by carrying his girlfriend’s bag. 

This scene didn’t escape Orion’s eyes, and it felt like a thorn twisting in his heart. 

His breathing grew heavier.

Seraphina hadn’t even decided whether to accept Wilson’s dinner invitation, but now that he had taken her belongings, she felt that publicly refusing him would be disrespectful. 

She smiled briefly, about to walk away, when a hand seized her wrist–firmly, almost cruelly. 

Seraphina turned her head. Orion’s dark eyes glinted with cold hostility, his face shadowed with anger. 

His grip tightened ever so slightly: his eyes were crimson with suppressed rage. 

“What’s the deal between you two?” 

The question came abruptly. It was as though he was desperate for the truth, even though he clearly dreaded hearing it. 

Every nerve in Orion’s body seemed taut, his blood running backward as he stared down Wilson, laced with a brooding darkness. 

Wilson didn’t possess the same domineering edge as Orion, but his calm, polished demeanor held its own. 

At Orion’s words, he

His sentence dropped like a hammer, leaving 

no room for doubt. 

He hadn’t spoken a direct truth, yet somehow he had. 

It was deliberate–a calculated effort to mislead Orion. Watching the cracks form in Orion’s composure, watching him unravel slightly, was strangely satisfying. 

Seraphina raised her brows in surprise, her gaze darting to Wilson. She opened her mouth, intending to explain, but in the end, no words came. 

The atmosphere grew thick and heavy, the tension stretching until it froze solid and lasted for a long time. 

Seraphina braced herself, expecting Orion to lose control completely. But to her surprise, he gradually let

“Make sure your hair is dry before you go outside. It’s freezing out there.” 

Seraphina was speechless. 

Without waiting for a reply, Orion shot a final glance at Wilson before he walked away. 

The gym owner hurried over to walk him off, daring not to waste his time. 

Seraphina watched Orion’s retreating figure, her heart inexplicably tightening as though an invisible hand was squeezing it. 

A faint, sharp ache pricked at her chest, leaving her unsettled. 

What did he even mean by that? 

Wilson, too, froze momentarily, his expression clouded and uncertain. 

Olivia, who was nearby, was always on time. She grabbed a towel from one of the staff and began patting Seraphina’s damp hair. 

“It really is cold out there,” Olivia remarked casually. 

Seraphina’s face paled, but she quickly composed herself. 

Reaching out to take the towel, she said, “I’ll do it myself.” 

Wilson stepped forward; composing himself, and offered, “Let me help.” 

His expression remained as warm and gentle as ever, but for some reason, Seraphina felt no warmth from him. 

She instinctively avoided him, while Olivia held onto the towel tightly. 

“I’ve got this! I’m a pro at drying hair!” Olivia chimed in brightly. 

Wilson struggled to find the right words.
