"Her name is the Butterfly Princess, alluding to his Butterfly Jade Pendant," Wang Wei replied. "Princess is a position of authority, meaning she rules over the butterfly. However, he did not use other titles like Empress or Queen, but princess — someone whose authority is derived from the Emperor.
"If you consider all this, the Butterfly Princess is the artificial spirit that Ying Zheng created to control the pendant better. It appeared she used some of Xun Junyao’s aura to perfect herself."
"I didn’t think Ying Zheng was the kind of person to use word plays," Wu Hong commented.
"Forget about him. Is there a way we could kill her?" Wang Wei asked.
"Not possible," Wu Hong shook her head. "There is an impressive formation under the stages, probably the work of the Grand Preceptor. Even if I act, I won’t be fast enough to reach her, let alone break the formation with one ultimate attack."
"Not to mention the political scandal that would cause," Wang Wei sighed softly.
"What’s wrong?" Qiyuan asked, wondering why his mood had suddenly become sour.
"She’s protected by the power of transcendence," Wang Wei revealed. Since Miscellaneous and the others had their own room, he could speak openly.
"So, it’s true. Ying Zheng has mastered his artifact," Yan Hai commented.
"Transcendence power... Butterfly Princess," Qiyuan muttered. "It can’t be?"
"It is," Wang Wei nodded.
"What?"
"Yes, fill us in," Yan Shirong nodded. Qiyuan then explained what the Butterfly Princess revealed.
"So, he’s been parading the truth in front of everyone?" Yan Hai asked, her lips twitching in anger.
"If she’s that important, should we try to assassinate her?" Yan Shirong suggested.
"This is probably the last time the world’ll see her," Qiyuan sighed. Now that the princess had completed the reason for her existence, it was time to fulfil her destiny.
"It seems you were right when you said he’s our greatest threat for the Primordial Saint Race," Yan Shirong commented.
"I usually am," Wang Wei replied calmly. "The show is about to start."
The Butterfly Princess raised her dainty hands, manifesting a brush. A painting canvas manifested before her, but the strange thing is that no one in the audience could see what was on the front. No matter how these god-like beings used their powers, they could only see the back.
As soon as she made the first stroke, the sound of the Dao echoed in the blue mansion. Everyone closed their eyes and allowed themselves to be guided by the music. A beautiful woman manifested in everyone’s mind.
She was breathtakingly beautiful, and everybody instinctively knew that. Oddly, though, no one could see her face or body — only a silhouette. The woman faced an endless ocean, and the audience could sense her determination to cross it. She took a deep breath before flying over.
To say her voyage was tumultuous was an understatement. She faced tsunamis, underwater volcanoes’ eruptions, attacks from sea demons, raids from pirates, battles between powerful cultivators, void cracks, accidentally entering someone’s tribulation, an intense bout of poisoning, Yin Qi Invasion, and countless more tribulations.
To be precise, the beautiful woman survived 99 tribulations before she finally reached the other end of the ocean. The beautiful silhouette, having experienced all these ordeals, smiled brightly before turning into a golden butterfly to enter a new world. The audience only had a tiny glimpse of that world, but everyone who saw something different.
Some saw themselves breaking through to higher realms, finally finding their Dao Companions, reviving a loved one, and others saw themselves achieve their grand ambitions.
"An interesting piece," Yan Shirong muttered.
"Indeed. She perfectly encapsulates the world’s situation with the upcoming disaster, preaches the idea of hope and a better future, while also symbolizing her life," Qiyuan nodded. "However, I ’m surprised she sees her upcoming fate as a positive thing." The fact that the butterfly saw a brilliant world at the end was surprising.
"She’s either accepted her fate, or she’s been programmed to see her end as her ultimate purpose," Wang Wei commented. After seeing this piece, he removed any thought he had of planting the idea of rebelling in the Butterfly Princess’s mind. The chessboard cannot mind control people; its purpose is mainly to influence them from the shadows by implanting ideas in their minds, but these ideas must align with the person’s personality or current situation.
"Congratulations, Butterfly Princess, for this masterpiece. You’ve outdone yourself," someone praised.
