“Since you delivered him, why don't you name him?” Sienna says and a small smile plays on my lips.
“If you insist,” I say as Frost rolls her eyes, already knowing what I did. We’ve surpassed visiting hours at the hospital and I can admit, I have enjoyed the time I had holding the baby.
He looks like he was going to be a handful. Venus, After, Mercy and Whisp came around 1 pm to see them and brought a new outfit for him. They gushed and carried him, Mercy and After fighting for the last few minutes. Frost disappeared during that time and got us something to eat. My sister knew I couldn’t be too long without sustenance. Spade, Knight and River came for a visit, bringing Sienna some cake and fresh clothes. She was getting discharged around 3 this afternoon. The two of us had lots to talk about.
“Yes, I insist,” She doesn't look at me, which is strange, but I let it slide when my phone rings.
“Yo didn't know you can deliver babies,” The rough voice on the other end says.
“Now you do. Found anything?”
“Nope, but we got a lead, Jade’s getting antsy, how's my kid?” Beggar asks as I get up off the chair I’m sitting on and move outside the room.
“She's keeping the brothers busy. Knight is permanently at your place.” Since the club started having babies, we bought the complex space a mile away from the Clubhouse. It wasn't something the other Chapters did. But with Lucca Sanati still alive, we weren't taking any chances with the kids. Zero, Beggar and young Talin lived in one house and the Prez and his girls in another.
The place was heavily guarded, and the town knew that if they trespassed, we would shoot to kill. No questions to be asked.
“I'll be home in a week, Jade and I got a pin,” She clips off the phone, not willing to talk more than she has to.
Beggar and Jade were hunting down a killer for one of our clients. Zero let her go on the hunts, it’s who she is. You can't tame a wild beast, let it go free, tire it out. The brother finally figured that out. Took him a few years too.
Zero finally grew a pair after Talin was born and decided no more tours for him. I was proud of the asshole for doing right by her. He was content to stay in Kanla and look after his kid, but I knew he was also tired of the waiting game with Lucca. He wanted this shit done more than his wife.
I walk back into the room and watch my sister, who might be known as Frost. But even she had emotion in her. It is clear as she rocks the newborn in her arms.
“I doubt he’ll give us any hassle, we should do some online shopping and get all the stuff delivered so we can set up a room for you,” Frost tells Sienna, and I watch Sienna’s face go from bliss to worry.
“I’m not staying too long. A few things should be sufficient,” Sienna says, and that doesn’t resonate well with me.
