The driver's side door closed with a thud. Elian hit the gas, and the car roared to life.

"Where did you think you were going?" Elian's tone was icy, with a hint of arrogant irritation.

Miranda instinctively buckled her seatbelt. Was he really that in tune with her thoughts now?
