Crystal had gone up to the hill to plant some seedlings. Once she got there, she started transplanting all the nurtured herbs. She was swamped with tasks, and they were barely able to catch a sight of her.

At the moment, Miranda received a call.

"Hello?"

"Hi, is this Miranda Hawk? This is..."

A moment later, Miranda hung up, frowning.

It was them. Marion had already mentioned something about it, but she really didn't want anything to do with those people.

Miranda felt speechless. Carter continued, "I know you’ve been hanging out with Hugo and the others without me."

Miranda got into her car and started the engine. "When did I do that?"

Carter whined, "I saw it on their Facebook. He called you the soft-hearted deity."

Miranda was silent. What nonsense.

"I don't care. You’ve been hanging out with them behind my back and not with me. You're playing favorites," Carter protested, sounding as if he was deeply wronged.

He had been sending her messages these past few days too. But she couldn't be bothered to respond.
