Wearing a black leather skirt and a pair of boots, Yasmin looked cool and energetic.
When she saw Scarlet, she rushed over to her and gave her a hug.
"Why are you so much thinner than the last time we met?"
"Is that a compliment?"
"Of course not. You're too skinny, and I feel pity for you," Yasmin answered crossly.
Scarlet just smiled and didn't respond.
She had been thin since she was a child. Perhaps it was because she didn't get enough nutrition in her childhood that she only grew taller but didn't gain much weight.
Because of this, her baby bump wasn't that obvious.
She was three and a half months pregnant now, but her belly still wasn't showing.
She was afraid that her baby wasn't getting enough nutrition. So she secretly went to the hospital for checkups. She was relieved that her baby was all right.
Yasmin took her to dinner and ordered a lot of spicy dishes.
In the past, Scarlet loved spicy food, but this time, she refused to eat anything spicy.
"What's wrong with you? I thought you loved spicy food," Yasmin asked, frowning.
"Nothing. It's just that my skin is hypersensitive now, so I can no longer eat spicy food," Scarlet explained immediately.
"Okay. Would you tell me now why you and Lenny got divorced?"
"Because, like you said, he's in love with another woman that he met abroad."
It was Yasmin who told Scarlet about Lenny's other woman that time.
Yasmin wasn't surprised at all at the result. After all, Scarlet also wanted a divorce, and now she got what she wanted. Besides, Lenny would give Scarlet one million dollars every month. She was set to make a fortune just by being Lenny's ex-wife.
After dinner, they went to a shopping mall and took a walk.
At the mall, Scarlet spotted Lenny and Rosaline. She quickly pulled Yasmin away.
"Is that Lenny? Who's that girl with him?"
"Don't you know her? It's the other woman that you told me about."
"No, that's not the woman I saw abroad."
Yasmin took out her phone and showed her friend a photo.
Scarlet recognized the woman in the photo. She was the one who drugged Lenny that night.
"That's his business partner."
"Then I was wrong. I have seen Lenny with this woman in the photo several times, but I have never seen him with that woman over there."
"It doesn't matter if your information is right or wrong. He still does have someone he likes from abroad and divorced me for her. Forget it. Let's just stop talking about them. Let's go somewhere else."
"That woman... Wait... She looks somewhat familiar to me. I think I've met her in Mistbush."
Looking at Rosaline's face, Yasmin couldn't shake the feeling that she had met her before, but she couldn't be sure where.
"She used to live in Mistbush. It's possible that you've brushed past her on the streets there."
"I don't know. Forget it. Let's go."
Yasmin really couldn't remember where she met Rosaline, so she just decided to drop the subject.
But she didn't think that she just brushed past Rosaline on the streets. If that were the case, then she shouldn't have felt that the woman looked familiar. She had a strong feeling that she had met Rosaline more than once at the university abroad.
Yasmin decided not to think too much and went someplace else with Scarlet.
The next day, Yasmin came back to school.
She was the best student in the finance department, and at the young age of nineteen, she had already gotten all her college credits in advance. Now she was taking her postgraduate studies. She was a straight-A student and the apple of the eye of the boys at school. She was the quintessential beauty and brains.
As soon as she returned, she became the school's instant sensation. Many pursuers lined up to get her attention.
But Yasmin didn't like any of them. She only stayed with Scarlet every day.
Scarlet also had her fair share of suitors. They were two beautiful but completely different girls in terms of personality.
Yasmin was like a rose—gorgeous, passionate, and riddled with thorns.
On the other hand, Scarlet was like jasmine after a drizzly day with petals that had raindrops on them. She was cool and refreshing to the eye, and her heart was as pure as her looks.
She was quiet and gentle with a tender smile.
The two of them were inseparable. Walking on the campus, they always attracted people's attention.
"So, you work in Professor Smith's studio?" Yasmin asked.
"Yes."
"Didn't you say that Lenny would give you a sum of money every month after your divorce?" Scarlet turned to look at her best friend.
