Chapter 112 Throw It Away
Nathael glanced at the message, his lips pressing thin and his gaze darkening.
Staring at the words Tve given the gift to someone else, he felt a sting and couldn’t help but type. ‘Who were you sending it to?
“Encko:”
After he typed, he swallowed and fixed his eyes on the words he had typed. After a few seconds, he deletes
Reopening the photo, his gaze fell on the pair of exquisite cufflinks, growing more irate.
After promising to give them to him, how could she give them to someone else?
This woman just couldn’t keep her word.
His fingers lingered on the send button for a long time. Nathael eventually pulled back, deciding to clear the chat box and not reply to the text.
Two days later, in the afternoon.
Maggie once again found her way to Nathael’s office. This time, less fortunately, he was in a meeting.
She waited idily in the reception room for a long time before she finally heard the meeting had ended.
Maggie hurried and stood up, only to encounter Nathael exiting the meeting room. Nathael, tall and lean, appeared dignified and sophisticated in his white shirt and silver–grey vest.
Feeling her gaze, Nathael glanced her way briefly, then averted his gaze and continued to walk away as he walked past her.
Maggie clenched her teeth in irritation. She tugged at the hem of his shirt and said, “Nathael!”
“Alex, who allowed you to let irrelevent personnel come to my office?” Nathael spoke without looking at her, his tone cold and clearly displeased.
Alex was close to tears. It was tough for him.
He was having a hard time.
The challenges this job poses was simply impossible.
“Why blame him? He can’t stop nie, Maggie retorted, still holding onto his shirt.
Nathael seemed annoyed. He turned around and looked down at her from above. His gaze was indifferent, and he asked, “Is there something I can do to help you? Ms. Adam, if there’s nothing else, I’m afraid you should leave now.”
His eyes were distant and cold. It lacked the passion and warmth from the days before, making Maggie instinctively want to retreat.

Releasing her hold, she gazed at him in stunned.
It was as if, overnight, he had reverted to the unapproachable Mr. Harris once more. He was no longer the man who had eyes only for her.
Maggie had never understood Nathael, either in her previous life or in this one.
She took out the gift and spoke softly, “I have a present for you.”
Nathael’s gaze fell on the dark blue velvet box in front of him, but he didn’t take it. Looking up at her again, his voice deep, he said, “Unearned wealth is undeserved, Ms. Adam; there’s no need for such a grand gift.”
Annoyed, Maggie’s eyes began to redden.
She bit her lip, meeting his gaze steadily, and spoke slowly, “You don’t want it?”
Nathael remained silent, his dangerous gaze fixed on her, but he reserved his words for Alex. He threatened, “If you let any more irrelevent personnel in, get your resignation letter ready.”
Alex’s heart sank, and he was on the verge of tears.
With that being said, Nathael turned to leave.
Maggie called out coldly to his retreating figure, “You have to tell me why you are so angry!”
Maggie couldn’t get it. She realised he might have been disappointed when she didn’t leave with him that day.
But she didn’t feel she was unforgivable, did she?
All she did was wait with Ericko for Mrs. Adam to get out of danger.
Why was Nathael so mad at her?
Why did he have to wear a sour expression around her?
She had planned to coax him, but now she truly didn’t feel she was wrong. She concluded that Nathael must have some serious issues.
