Maggie gathered her luggage as the plane landed smoothly before disembarking. She handed the letter. she was holding to Nathael with a smile and said, “Mr. Harris, this is for you.”

Nathael’s expression was cool. His gaze fell on the envelope she had touch it.

itten hours before, but he didn’t

Maggie wasn’t anxious. Since he didn’t accept it, she placed the envelope on the storage table opposite him, then proceeded to get off the plane.

Nathael’s eyes lingered on her back, and he slowly said, “Ms. Adam.

Maggie paused. She glanced back, looked at him, and asked, “What sup?”

“Remember to return my clothes,” Nathael said slowly, his dark eyes locking onto hers.

Maggie experienced a brief moment of shock. Then she remembered the paper bag she carried by her feet. “Oh, that’s right! I have indeed forgotten.”

She picked up the clothes and then left.

Nathael didn’t rush to get off the plane. He leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes. After a while, he reopened them, took the envelope Maggie had left on the storage table, and opened it.

Inside the envelope, he saw a portrait of himself. Along with the drawing, there were many crookedly written words. At a glance, they all read…

“Nathael’s a pig!”

Nathael’s eyes fixed on the words on the paper. The veins on his forehead bulged. His temples throbbed painfully as he squeezed a few words from his teeth. “Maggie Adam!”

Haha, no wonder she waited until disembarking to give it to me.

It turns out she was afraid I would skin her alive!

Maggie made a quick exit, probably having thoroughly scolded Nathael and being in a good mood

because of it.

After completing her hotel check–in process, Maggie contacted the person in charge to coordinate the program. After clarifying her study course and location for the next few days, she returned to her room to

rest..

Not long after, a call came in and the hotel staff said, “Sorry, miss, the clothing you sent over has been stained with wine for too long and cannot be cleaned. The fabric is delicate; we dare not attempt to clean it too many times.”

Maggie rubbed her temples. What a hassle.

“Just send them back to me then,” she replied.

Correct

Although she was not into fashion design, she could tell that the fabric was delicate.

Maggie decided to call Alex. After all, she was too cowardly to call Nathael.

The phone rang for a while before being answered. Maggie said warmly, “Mr. Solace, how much does Mr. Harris’s suit cost? I’ll just transfer the money to you.”

Alex held the phone in his hand. He looked at Nathael, who had a cold expression in front of him,and replied, “Ms. Adam, his clothes are all custom–made. Also, Mr. Harris isn’t short of money.”

Maggie was unsure what to say.

Of course, I know Nathael isn’t short of money, but isn’t he clearly suggesting I compensate for it?

Maggie decided to bite the bullet. She said, “Even custom–made has a price, right? The wine stains can’t be washed off. Why don’t you ask Nathael if he wants me to compensate?”

“Ms. Adam, why don’t you ask him yourself?” Alex said it with a smile. He didn’t want to get involved in the

two’s affairs.

After all, the last time was already a mess, and he ended up needing to rummage through the trash.

Alex’s response left Maggie speechless. If I’m so bold, why would I call you?

Just after cursing Nathael, she doesn’t have the nerve to go to him now; that would be suicidal.

“Mr. Solace, you have a point,” Maggie agreed with a nod.

Alex was quite relieved. He thought, compared to Nathael, Maggie was still reasonable. Before he could fully exhale, he heard Maggie continue, “But don’t say it next time.”

Alex had no words.

He looked up again at the man in front of the office desk, trying to figure out what she meant.

This is exhausting.

Life is truly exhausting.

“Do you still want me to compensate?” Maggie asked absent–mindedly, hoping it would indeed be better if she could just transfer the money and be done with the hassle of returning the clothes.
