Chapter 204 Are You Insane?
Maggie hesitated for a moment, wanting to ask more questions.
But catching Nathael’s teasing glance, she realised he wasn’t going to tell her.
So meant
She frowned, her lips forming a slight pout of annoyance before reluctantly shifting her focus back to the
video.
“I noticed there are numerous close–ups of my face in this video. Will that be an issue? I was planning on recording another close–up video,” Maggie said, feeling uneasy.
Tll have someone edit it later to remove those parts. So if Sierra tries to misuse the video, you can release the complete one to prove yourself,” Nathael responded, his voice serious.
Maggie nodded. He indeed knew her intentions.
She had originally wanted to use another video with her face visible. She hadn’t thought about using video editing.
This way is better, she thought to herself.
“Staying over tonight?” Nathael asked.
Maggie hesitated for a moment.
She knew it.
Blinking her wide eyes at him, she couldn’t help but say, “I swear, you’re always trying to tempt me.”
“You got it right, Nathael replied, his lips curling into a mischievous grin, a hint of playfulness on his handsome face.
Maggie couldn’t resist pinching his cheek. After a moment’s thought, she decided to drop the act.
“I’ll go shower first.”
“Sure.”
Meanwhile, on the other side.
Beth stood on her bedroom balcony, frowning as she held her phone. “Who are you? What do you want?”
“It doesn’t matter who I am. What matters is that you know I’m here to help you,” the voice from the other end replied, sounding relaxed and cheerful, like chatting with an old friend.
However, it was obvious that it had been altered and wasn’t natural.
“Are you sure what you’re saying is true?”
Beth opened the latest message on her phone, clicked the link, and found photos, conversations, and transaction records.
“What are you after?” she asked in a cold tone, a glint of curiosity appearing in her eyes.
Just do what you think is right,” came the response.
Upon hearing this, Beth had already made her decision.
Switching topics, she asked again, “What else do you know?”
The other person chuckled softly. “You’re quite clever. Well, I know quite a bit too.”
“Such as?”
“Such as knowing that Maggie won’t stand a chance against you in the end.”
Hearing this, Beth was momentarily taken aback, a rush of excitement bubbling up inside her.
But she was well aware that she shouldn’t trust the words of an unknown person so easily.
“What are you trying to say?” Beth’s fingers tightened around the phone.
“Maybe one day, you’ll understand,” came the enigmatic response.
With that vague remark, the person on the other end simply smiled and ended the call.
Beth wanted to ask more questions, but there was only a busy signal on the other end.
Frowning, she reopened the link the person had sent her and studied it closely. A chill ran through her as
she read.
A few minutes later, Beth called Nathael.
Nathael had just finished showering when he noticed the call coming in. He furrowed his brows and quickly went to the table to answer the phone.
