Chapter 240 I Can’t Bear to Keep You Waiting for Too Long
Maybe because Maggie had suppressed her emotions for so long, she lost control, and tears streamed down her face.
Nathael was stunned for a second when he saw her crying. Every tear drop was hurting his heart.
He seemed shaken. His voice deepened and became hoarse as he tried to console her, “Sorry, I’m so sorry. I was just worried about you…
“You are so stupid, Nathael!”
This was the man who was always full of schemes and cunning, but why was he so naive in such moments? It made her heart wrench.
Why did he apologise when he did nothing wrong?
Maggie was crying her heart out. She was angered by his willingness to put himself so low in front of her. She was not worth it.
Nathael did not say a word. He wiped her tears off her face and said, “Don’t cry. Seeing you cry breaks my heart.”
Maggie then climbed over and rested on him, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing his lips.
Nathael’s hands were firmly placed around her waist, relishing every moment of it.
They could feel the temperature rising in the car. The rain outside had slowed down.
Maggie was cuddling in his arms as the car entered the residential area. She slowly asked, “Can you carry me back home?”
“Sure.
Alex, who was driving, was dumbfounded by what he had heard. It was absolute madness!
Maggie was acting like a baby, and Nathael was pampering her.
What could he say more?
He stopped the car by the roadside, and the two then got out of the vehicle.
Nathael lowered himself in front of Maggie to let her hop on his back. She rested her head on his shoulder once she was carried.
She was holding onto him so tight that she could feel his warmth.
The road was quiet at the late hour. Their shadows were portrayed on the ground by the light of the street lamps.
The air was refreshing after the rain had stopped.
Maggie was on Nathael’s back, keeping her eyes closed to etch the memory in her mind.

Chapter 240 I Can’t Bear to Keep You Waiting for Too Long
Nathael was silent for a brief moment before he gently answered, “I don’t know.”
Maggie couldn’t help chuckling. She always wondered why he loved her so much when she was always
mean.
Leo made her feel like she would never be alone, but Nathael made her feel like she was worth being loved.
He made her feel like she could still hope for sunshine and butterflies, no matter how bad the situations around her were.
Although she had been hurting this man all this while, he still loved her in every possible way that he could, and he had brought light to her chaotic life.
Nathael gazed into the distance as Maggie kept her silence. He spoke in his deep voice, “I really don’t know. Before we were together, I always hoped to see you. And I always kept an eye on the Camerons project, hoping you’d come and see me for it.”
Though she was always cold and malicious towards him, he just couldn’t help but pay close attention to her whereabouts. He just wanted to see her, even from afar.
Even though he knew he would be upset seeing her stay close to Joseph, he still wanted to see her.
He just wanted to see her face, without any reason.
Maggie chuckled at what he said and asked, “What about after we are together?”
