Let's Start All Over Again, Shall We (Maggie and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 303

Chapter 303 The Camerons‘ Luck Has Run Out

Maggie stayed quiet, realizing that Master Harris had taken action. No wonder Madam Cameron said what she

did earlier.

Maggie stayed hushed, not saying a word.

Ronald continued. “I hope you’ll marry into the Harrises. But Nathael’s position among them is quite high. Without Master Harris’s approval, your chances are slim….

Maggie looked down and murmured, “Dad, I understand. At first, I approached him to help the family, but I can’t ignore that he’s quite charming.”

Maggie didn’t deny her feelings for Nathael, nor did she firmly express them. Being too definite would make her sound suspicious and lead Ronald to speculate more.

Ronald nodded. “As long as you know what you’re doing. Mr. Harris controls the Spectral Port project. Though some names are already on the list, if Mr. Harris agrees, the Camerons can still get a piece. Try putting some effort into it…!

Maggie nodded, “Got it.”

“Also, check out these projects, especially Atrium Mall and Florum Hot Springs. See if you can get hold of internal documents and data, Ronald suggested slowly.

Maggie felt a hint of sarcasm. Internal data?

What does that even mean?

It’s just a hint for me to steal Nathael’s data and documents.

Ronald saw Luster Corporation’s losses and planned to refocus on the construction business.

The Camerons were on the government’s blacklist, so they had to target other projects. The bigger the project, the more money there was to be made.

Maggie figured these two projects were likely the biggest ones the Camerons could get into. Even if they couldn’t handle them fully, just having a share would be profitable.

“I’ll try, but after what happened with Joseph last time, Mr. Harris has been cautious around me,” Maggie replied.

Ronald understood and went on, “Speaking of which, Joseph is getting engaged to Vanessa.”

Maggie was shocked; this was unexpected.

Joseph and Vanessa are getting engaged?

“So soon?”

Ronald nodded, “Joseph isn’t getting any younger, and it’s just an engagement for now. It’ll take time to sort things out.”

Maggie thought for a moment and said warmly, “As long as you and Mom are okay with it. I wish them

Ronald fell silent for a bit. His face was full of wrinkles as he looked at Maggie with his slightly cloudy eyes that were tinged with a touch of bitterness.

“Vanessa’s background isn’t as good, but Joseph seems determined, whether out of spite or genuine affection. He insisted, so I agreed to it.

“For now, it’s just an engagement. If they’re meant to be, they’ll make it to marriage. If not, they might not get that far”

Maggie’s gaze turned cold as she silently evaluated Ronald.

He painted the picture of a somewhat dissatisfied but helpless father, while revealing his materialism and hypocrisy openly.

It was difficult for Maggie to find the truth amid all the deceit.

However, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong.

How could things escalate so rapidly?

Ronald is always focused on profit. Even though he hinted that he might not ultimately approve of their marriage, agreeing to let Joseph get engaged with someone like Vanessa, considering her background, is a kind of compromise in itself.

What could convince Joseph to compromise?

Only self–interest!
