Life at The Top novel Chapter 2041

After hearing this, Jasper said with a smile, “Mr. Soros, since you know that today is a celebration party, why didn’t you prepare a gift? Is it possible that you’ve lost all your money after this battle? If this is the case, will I still see you talking to me in three years’ time all fine and dandy?”

After this, the person on the other side of the phone went silent for three seconds. One could only imagine the anger in Soros’s heart at this time. “Jasper, you have always been so sharp-tongued.”

“Mr. Soros has an even sharper tongue,” Jasper said with a smile before hanging up the phone.

He did not want to say anything to Soros even though he knew that Soros would not call him for no reason, but at this time and place, Jasper did not have any intention to continue with the battle of words with this group of people.

“Excuse me.” After Jasper hung up the phone, he filled his glass with wine and apologized politely to everyone he passed. Then, he walked toward the hotel‘s large terrace.

At this moment, the little prince and Lord Alvarado, who were looking at Jasper’s back, were talking as they sat a table.

“Tell me, was that kid Jasper at the same level as us back then?”

“Look at him now, there is such a big change,” the little prince said with some emotion.

“Maybe some people are born to change everything, and Jasper is one of those people,” Lord Alvarado said with a laugh.

As soon as Jasper walked into the terrace, he saw a figure in a wheelchair looking up at the sky.

“The sun is shining brightly today so it’s a good day to bask in the sun.”

When he heard Jasper‘s voice, the crippled Brown was not surprised. He smiled and said, “The night sky is different every night, and it’s very different from the day. Yet, I much prefer the night.”

“Of course, there is another reason. You can see everything too clearly under the sun…”

“Jasper, to be honest, it never occurred to me that I would come out of the residence one day after I became lame, but you made this happen…”

The two of them stood on the large and wide terrace, the breeze blowing on them both. This reminded Jasper of the scene at the Southface River as the scene kept popping up in Jasper’s mind. It had been so long since back then things have reached this stage, yet what happened in the past seemed like it had only happened yesterday.

Seriously, what a pipe dream…

“Are you not drinking now that you’re here?”

Jasper smiled and handed a glass of red wine to the crippled Brown. The latter looked at Jasper and smiled. Then, he sighed and took the glass.

“I know, all of you are just pushing me into the spotlight for this,” Jasper said with a smile.

After hearing this, the crippled Brown smiled. “Not everyone has this opportunity. Plus, you didn’t disappoint everyone.”

Jasper smiled and remained silent.

“Well, how are you going to deal with this?” The crippled Brown’s expression was a little serious.
