Life at The Top novel Chapter 2093

Kayden glanced at Jasper and the two women beside him with a complicated look. He could only say that Jasper was truly blessed.

“What‘s wrong, Mr. Kayden?” Jasper looked at Kayden and asked with a grin.

Only then did Kayden come back to his senses and said, “Mr. Laine, please stay, my father wishes to invite you over for a chat.”

After hearing this, Jasper showed an understanding look on his face. Then, he nodded and said, “Since it’s Mr. Langdon’s request, I can’t refuse.”

Then he said to Wendy, “Wendy, you should wait for me in the hotel first, or you can go shopping with Anna, I‘ll be back later.”

Wendy looked at him and urged, “Yeah, okay. You have to pay attention to your safety too.”

After speaking, she left with Anna. Then, Jasper followed Kayden to Half the Harbor Langdon’s study.

The world was talking about how frugal and low profile the hidden rich in Harbor City, Half the Harbor Langdon, was.

He had his watch worn for decades and his leather shoes had been repaired and reused for more than ten years. Even during his 60th birthday, he only threw a simple meal with his family to get together. However, they did not know that a random red sandalwood desk in his study was worth hundreds of millions, not to mention his collections of jade and gemstones. The assets in this study alone were worth more than a dozen listed companies.

Sure enough, those so-called inspirational quotes were all used to corrupt losers who did not know the truth. Half the Harbor Langdon was already waiting in the study, and when he saw Jasper coming, he went to greet him.

“Mr. Laine, there you are! Quick, please sit down! Have some tea, please!”

Jasper felt that Half the Harbor Langdon was a little too enthusiastic today, which seemed out of place to him.

After he sat down, Kayden left the room, leaving Half the Harbor Langdon and Jasper alone in the study.

Jasper looked at Half the Harbor Langdon and asked, “There are so many guests here today, but you only asked me to say. This isn’t as simple as inviting me to come over for tea, right?”

After he heard this, Half the Harbor Langdon gave him a deep look, smiled, and said, “Mr. Laine, you are an extremely smart person, so you should have guessed the reason why I invited you here.”

Upon hearing this, Jasper raised his eyebrows.

“Well… Mr. Langdon really thinks highly of me. I genuinely don’t know what the purpose of you asking me here is. But you can tell me, I’m all ears!”

Half the Harbor Langdon was stunned for a moment. Then, he sighed and slowly said, “Actually, this trip to the United States has made me think about a lot of things. I am already old… Like the leaves on a tree, they always return to their roots. Now my assets on the mainland have evaporated by nearly 70%. Only Harbor City is left now, and it does not pose any threat to you.
