Inside a villa in suburban New York…
Fabian was waiting for good news from Somerland. Once the killer he hired completed the task this time and after the news of Jasper’s death was confirmed, he and his father would be able to return to the country again. However, it had been forty-eight hours since he had contacted the killer, Scorpion.
There was no news of Jasper’s death from Somerland, nor did he hear from Scorpion.
“Did anything happen…”
Fabian paced back and forth in the hall, feeling uneasy. At this moment, his phone suddenly vibrated violently. When he took a look, he saw that it was from Kayden. Fabian hurriedly pressed the answer button. “What’s the situation in Harbor City?”
“Fabian, what the hell? Didn’t you say that this mission was foolproof? Why did it still fail?”
As soon as Kayden opened his mouth, he questioned Fabian loudly. His tone sounded very angry and anxious, which stunned Fabian a little.
Although Kayden’s attitude made him very uncomfortable, he still asked patiently, “What’s wrong? Did Scorpion fail this mission? Where is he now?”
“Don’t mention Scorpion again! I get mad whenever someone mentions him! I can’t get in touch with him now. This morning, Jasper held a press conference and began to increase the recovery efforts in the Harbor City and mainland market. Our family’s remaining assets in the mainland were all annexed by Jude, and the assets in Harbor City were also shared by those headed by the Laws! Is this the good way to get something done once and for all as you said? You have destroyed our family this time!” Kayden was roaring when he said that.
He sounded flustered and exasperated.
On the other end of the phone, Fabian was stunned.
