The thief covered his head with both hands as Celine kicked him. He kept shouting and begging for mercy.
“Stop! Stop it! If you keep kicking, you’ll kill me!”
Celine got angry and kicked him in the leg again, scolding bitterly, “You don’t even behave like a human, yet you’re scared of losing your life?”
While Celine was venting her anger, she did not notice Jasper standing beside her. Jasper looked at Celine‘s shrewish appearance, never expecting her to have such a violent side.
“Ahem,” Jasper pretended to cough and caught Celine’s attention.
When she noticed that the person who helped her subdue the thief was Jasper, she could not hold back her surprise.
“Jasper! It’s you?! Why are you in Harbor City?”
Jasper shook his head in astounding and said, “Miss Maynard, did you just notice me?”
Celine was a little embarrassed. She glared at the thief and complained, “It’s all his fault! Of all the things he could steal, and he stole my stuff! But it’s all thanks to you. Otherwise, my latest bag would have ended up on the black market…”
Jasper shook his head with a smile and could not stop himself from teasing her, “With your financial resources, I don’t think you’ll have a problem buying hundreds of such bags. However, this thief is indeed a piece of work. Why don’t we send him to the police?”
Celine nodded, “Sure…”
Celine then took out her phone and called the police. Soon, the police arrived. They then handcuffed the thief and took him away.
After that, Celine smiled and suggested, “Thank God you’re here today. How about I buy you lunch?”
Jasper touched his stomach and said with some embarrassment, “I just ate at a friend’s house, but if you haven‘t eaten yet, I can accompany you.”
“That’s fine…” Celine nodded while beaming.
The two found a place for afternoon tea near Nine Dragon Commercial Street and sat down.
