Nauritus City.
Wendy did not inform Dawson in advance this time. Instead, she pulled the suitcase directly to the door and rang the doorbell.
“Coming! I’m coming. Who is it?”
As the door opened, Wendy could not help frowning when she saw May living in her house. However, she smiled and asked politely, “Aunty May, why are you at home alone? Where is my dad?”
May felt a little awkward when she saw Wendy suddenly appearing. However, her expression quickly returned to her natural state. She explained with a smile, “There is a chess competition in the city today, and your father is participating.”
After speaking, she glanced at the wall clock in the living room and added, “But he should be back soon. Come, come in first.”
After May said that, she took the suitcase from Wendy’s hand like she was the family’s matriarch.
“Wendy, I heard from Jasper that you’re in charge of a project in Harbor City. Have you completed the work over there now that you are back?” May asked while pretending to be concerned.
Wendy glanced at her and shook her head. “Not yet, but I found someone else to take over.”
After she said that, she averted her eyes from the house and looked at May again. She asked, “Aunty May, I called my dad yesterday and he said he wanted to marry you. So, I want to ask you, is this true?”
May was stunned for a few seconds when she heard that. After thinking about it, she said in slight embarrassment, “To be honest, we’re both old. Originally, I told your dad that we did not need to hold a wedding. The two of us could just live together and care for each other for the rest of our lives. But your dad insisted we should have a ceremony, so I don’t have a choice…”
As May said that, she had a happy smile on her face, shocking Wendy a little.
Alright, it was not like she disagreed with the idea of Dawson remarrying again. The main reason was that she still had a lot of questions about May.
