Adele breathed a sigh of relief in her heart. “Okay, Brother, Jasper, stop chatting. The food is getting cold. Let’s eat first…” Adele said and handed Jasper some food.
The crippled Brown also laughed and teased her, “Adele, I find that every time Jasper comes to our house, you can only see him and not myself.”
Adele’s face turned red from the teasing, and she angrily glared at the crippled Brown.
“Brother, you are just talking nonsense. I care about you the most among all the other members of our family. It really hurts me when you say that.”
The crippled Brown laughed again. He knew exactly how his sister felt about Jasper.
Jasper reached an agreement with the crippled Brown while eating. Next, they would devote part of their energy to cultivating forces in the Eastern Central Region. In short, while ensuring they would make money, they had to also try their best to create some trouble for the United States.
After Jasper left, the crippled Brown said to Adele, “Adele, do you remember what I said to you before?”
Adele frowned slightly and said in a displeased tone, “Brother, I know what you want to say. You just want to remind me…”
“I can get any man in Somerland except for Jasper, right?”
“Don’t worry, I didn’t forget that… Besides, Jasper already has a fiancée and a confidante in Harbor City. There’s no place for me around him anymore.”
The crippled Brown could not help laughing as he watched his sister look so irritated.
“Silly girl, you misunderstood me.”
When Adele heard this, she was slightly taken aback and asked, “If you didn’t mean that, then what are you saying?”
The crippled Brown said with a smile, “I didn’t want to see you investing your feelings on Jasper before because he was like a dark horse that suddenly broke into the upper class of Somerland. He doesn’t have any foundation or background, and everything about him was out of tune with our family.
“Besides, many of the things he does are too dangerous. I didn’t want you to follow him into a trap, but now it seems I underestimated him… Jasper is far more powerful than I imagined. Only Jasper is worthy of my sister among the many people in this world.”
