There were all sorts of instant noodles, biscuits, and water in the hotel suite.
One would think that Omas was preparing for battle with how solemn he was. All of this was prepared by Anne for Omas before he left.
Omas initially believed that it was unnecessary since doing so might lead others to misunderstand. However, Anne did not stop. In fact, he ensured that Omas had enough resources that he could survive around a week isolated from the outside world after making the necessary preparations. Only then did Anne leave assured.
Before he left, Omas actually asked “Is this all really necessary?”
“According to my experience in Morten, very much so…”
Omas finally believed that Anne was right when he saw the dog foaming at the mouth. Then, Omas slowly made his way to the window and peeked through the slit in the curtains.
It was quiet outside, and no one was any wiser about the dangers that just occurred within the room.
However, Omas knew that true danger laid outside his room. Tonight’s poisoning incident was only a premonition. Things would only get worse from here.
Having failed, Dejon returned to the secret base indignantly.
Kerrick, the leader asked when he saw Dejon return so soon and angrily.
“You’re back soon. Did you fail?”
Dejon nodded helplessly and told them what happened. “Boss, something tells me Omas isn’t as simple as he seems…
Kerrick found the situation difficult now that he heard Dejon’s retelling. However, he was more willing to believe that what happened was a one-off accident.
“You have a point, but you need to trust that you’re a professional too…”
