Hezti on the other side had already woken up from a nap. He looked outside and it was still pitch black.
“Boss, you’re awake…”
After Hezti woke up, he realized the driver had turned the music up loud. This was normal, otherwise, it would be bad if the driver fell asleep.
Hezti glanced at his phone, and saw it was almost five o’clock in the morning.
“How far are we from Bardot?”
“There are still more than 30 kilometers left. According to the current speed, it will take us about half an hour… Boss, do you have anything urgent to tend to?”
Hezti heard the driver’s question and did not answer immediately. However, there was a gunshot, which answered the driver’s question for Ludwig.
The driver was instantly dumbfounded after hearing the gunshot.
“W-What’s going on here?”
“Don’t worry, start speeding up now. The sooner you reach Bardot, the higher the probability of us surviving!”
The driver did not dare to speak anymore after hearing this, and at the same time, he turned down the music and began to focus on driving.
In the meantime, Hezti also contacted Anne.
“Anne, where are you now? I’ll be in Bardot in twenty minutes! There’s a car chasing us from behind!”
After hearing this, Anne spoke quickly, “Don’t worry, Ludwig. We are safe in the city now. We can let Brock wait for the results!”
“Are you on the main road? I’ll come to rescue you right away!”
Hezti replied ‘yes’ and Anne immediately started moving.
Kerrick just retracted his gun on the black off-road vehicle following behind. He saw the familiar license plate and it was the same as what the hotel manager told him.
Fortunately, Hezti and the others were driving a van, so the large cargo space at the back became their shield. If they were in a general hatchback or a family car, they would have been shot into a sieve by Kerrick and others. However, even so, the pressure Kerrick put on Hezti and driver was not insignificant at all.
After several clashes, Hezti heard the driver next to him say, “I’m sorry, Boss, I can’t hold on any longer. If this continues, we may not be able to hold on till Bardot.”
Seeing the driver’s expression, Hezti knew he was not lying.
