Life at The Top novel Chapter 299

George fell into a deep state of despair.

“Mr. Laine, please have mercy. I’ll never go against you anymore,” George begged while sobbing.

Jasper looked indifferently at George. Suddenly, he smiled at Jim and said, “Uncle Yapp, how much do you think George’s company is worth?”

Jim was slightly dazed. Before this, Jasper had never discussed it with him. However, currently, he had to cooperate with Jasper.

Jim smiled and thought properly before saying, “Back then, it might have been worth seven or eight million, but the current market situation now is not that great and it’s difficult to have any business. So, I’m guessing two million max?”

After George heard that, he was livid. He yelled, “Nonsense! My clientele alone is not even worth this price!”

Jasper said indifferently, “If Uncle Yapp said two million, then two million it is. You can sell it to me for two million or you can fight with us.”

George’s face immediately went white while his heart bled.

If they bought his company for two million, the loss he suffered would be enough to make him bleed internally.

However, George realized he could not say no.

If he declined, his company might get destroyed by Jim.

He was never Jim’s rival even back then, what more after Jasper’s injection of funds.

After taking a deep breath, George smiled bitterly and said, “Okay, two million it is. I’m selling.”

“That was the price just now. Now it’s 1.5 million,” Jim said suddenly.

George was staring at him blankly after hearing that. He subconsciously wanted to scream but when he saw Jim and Jasper’s cold gazes, he came back to his senses.

These two were setting a trap for him to walk into. If he said another word, he might only be left with one million.

He clenched his fists and said through gritted teeth, “Okay!”

At this moment, George felt extremely remorseful. He should have never provoked Jasper.

After tearing a check of 1.5 million, Jasper handed it to Jim and smiled. He said, “Uncle Yapp, we’ll just treat this 1.5 million as an introduction fee.”

Jim did not expect Jasper to be serious. He quickly said, “Jasper, this is too much…”
