The three elders widened their eyes in disbelief as they stared at Griffin.
Demi was startled as well. "What are you trying to do here, Dad?"
"What am I trying to do? We've ruled Mewatown for all these years. Do you think I'm going to surrender just like that?" Griffin asked coldly.
Demi could hardly believe her ears, but those words had indeed come out of her father's mouth.
Griffin said, "All four clans have controlled the lands of North Manand for almost a century now. Our ancestors sacrificed themselves to make this possible. Are we going to give it up with just the slightest challenge that comes our way? What would we say to them?"
Demi fell silent for a long time.
In the end, she let out a resigned sigh.
She did not know if her father was making the right choice here.
Just then, Westley spoke up with a frown, "Are you telling the truth?"
"You can take a look at Spiralville for yourselves if you don't believe me. Half the town is in ruins," said Griffin. "To tell you the truth, Wilbur told me to order for the three of you to surrender within three days, or he's going to give you hell. Do you think you've got no part to play in this?"
"Is he really as powerful as you made him out to be?" Salem asked.
Griffin nodded. "More powerful than you think."
"He killed Lowen with one move and took out half of Spiralville. That makes him about peak Sanctuary level, right?" Jasper frowned.
"Absolutely," said Griffin.
Salem's expression turned cold. "So what if he's peak Sanctuary level? We have three Sanctuary level cultivators here too, and all our troops. I'm sure we'll be able to take him down."
It was clear that all three of them had believed Griffin. There was no point in him telling a lie like this.
