He glanced at the screen and picked up the phone, muttering a few sentences before hanging up and turning to Wilbur. "I really do have somewhere else to be today, but don't you worry. Someone's going to come looking for you bright and early tomorrow, and you're going to be taught a nice little lesson on just how stupid you were to hit my man earlier. Get in the car, Frost."
Leo called out to his driver, who glowered viciously at Wilbur before turning to get in.
Leo got back into his car as well.
Wilbur smirked. "I'll be waiting. I just hope you won't disappoint me."
Leo raised the window of the passenger seat, the glass cutting off their locked stares.
The Hummer drove off slowly, and Wilbur turned back to his driver. "Let's go."
Wilbur and Shepard returned to the car. The driver snapped out of his stupor, hurrying over to head to the president's office at full speed.
On the way there, the driver eventually mustered up the courage to say, "Mister Penn, G-General Emer has always been pretty close to the president, and he played a part in handling the riots recently. I heard that he's about to be made Defense Minister soon and will be working directly under the president. I think it's best that you stay out of his way. It's not a good idea to mess with him."
Wilbur chuckled. "Don't worry about that. I've yet to meet someone I couldn't afford to mess with quite yet. He's hardly anything to me."
The driver sighed wordlessly and remained silent the rest of the way.
Seeing as this man was a guest of the president's office, he had to be holding some amount of power.
However, Leo was close to the president and most likely infinitely more powerful than this guy.
All the driver could pray for was that Wilbur would not run into Leo in the president's office, or the incident was going to be handled a lot sooner than tomorrow.
The car pulled up in front of the president's office, where the driver verified his identity, then led Wilbur and Shepard all the way to the waiting lounge.
Someone else was then assigned to serve Wilbur, and they headed to the banquet hall.
Wilbur took in the sight before him.
The room was filled with powerful people, everyone chatting away happily.
The president, however, was not there yet.
