Orin frowned, and his face was full of uncertainty.
"You need to understand. The Department of Paranormal Research and Defense is a violent organization with a lot of power, so they need to be closely monitored."
"With your position, being tied to them will bring about a lot of discussions."
"Our suggestion is for your own good. You should think about it."
Orin said slowly, "Do I have to make a choice?"
"You have to, Orin. This opportunity isn't something most people can get. Why do you need to have ties with that department?"
"If you choose to maintain your relationship with that department, then you can go back right now."
Orin was shocked.
He finally understood.
If he did not cut ties with Wilbur, then he would have no hope of being promoted.
The three of them were clearly trying to restrict the power of the Department of Paranormal Research and Defense.
However, Wilbur had helped him so much, how could he just cut ties with Wilbur like that?
"Orin, you've been working for so many years, but you're still not decisive enough when it comes to something like this. I'm starting to be a bit worried about your abilities."
Orin was silent for a long time before he said slowly, "I understand. Can you give me some time to think about it?"
"You have one day."
Orin got up and bowed before he quietly walked out.
In the evening, Wilbur walked out of the Kiwanis Club building and went back to the hotel alone.
The Kiwanis Club's complicated structure, its numerous organizations, and its existing businesses gave Wilbur a headache just looking at them.
He even thought of leaving this to his Second Consciousness.
Shaking his head, he walked on the brightly lit road in Magic City, still digesting everything that happened.
