Wilbur was shocked by her reply.
He was stunned for a moment, and he finally confirmed that the old couple were the bad guys.
He glanced at them and said coldly, "I shouldn't have saved you."
"W-What do you mean?" asked the old couple puzzlingly.
Wilbur shook his head and told Carol, "You should move out with Harley. This house isn't a suitable place for you and your husband."
"Move out?" Carol laughed wryly and said, "Harley doesn't know how to do anything, so he won't make any money. Our child's tuition money depends on my crafting work. Do you think we can afford to move out?"
Wilbur sighed and said, "I'll give you a number. She's the CEO of her company and my friend. You can call her, and she will arrange a job and accommodation for you. As for your child, Harley seems free to me, so you should let him be the caretaker."
"Really?" Hope lit up in her eyes.
Wilbur smiled and nodded. He said, "Trust me, I won't lie to you."
Then, Wilbur passed Faye's number to Carol.
Carol was reliable and hardworking. Any unimportant job would be better for her than to stay at the house for crafting work.
She could get rid of her twisted in-laws. It would be good for Carol.
Carol seemed very willing to work too. She would not choose to stay at the house if she had a choice.
However, the in-laws immediately protested when they heard that. They grabbed Wilbur and asked, "What are you doing? Are you trying to snatch our daughter-in-law away? We won't allow it!"
"Let go!" yelled Wilbur sternly with his spirit energy.
The old couple instantly felt thunderstruck. They were stunned on the spot.
Wilbur said coldly, "It's a blessing that Carol didn't leave this family with in-laws like you. How dare you try to cause trouble?"
Carol teared up.
It was true that she would have left a long time ago if it was not for her child. She did not want to endure her in-laws.
The man in front of her seemed extraordinary, so she felt like she saw the light of day.
