The man seemed like a feral beast then, hellbent on protecting its territory and killing all intruders.
"Come on, let's fight to our heart's content!" the man cried out as he swung his scythe at Wilbur wildly.
"Only in battle does my willpower truly catch fire." The man threw himself at Wilbur, chopping at Wilbur's waist.
"Only in battle do I feel what it means to be alive." The man swung the scythe around, aiming for Wilbur's chest ruthlessly.
"Only in battle does one truly grow." The man appeared to be more and more unhinged by the second.
His unruly hair fell over his shoulders in clumps as he garbled on, his gaze nothing but crazed.
The man was in an all-consuming high from the battle, even causing his body to tremble slightly amidst his emotion.
Wilbur did not know how to respond. He had not expected to run into a lunatic out of following his curiosity.
It seemed like there was no leaving for him until he took this guy down.
Wilbur did not want to hurt him, at the end of the day. He did not know this man and had thus gone easy on him many times so as not to injure the man.
As the battle grew in intensity, a cyclone kicked up on the water, bringing about fierce waves.
Yet neither the wind nor the waves could enter the confines of the ongoing battle.
The man's gaze grew even more crazed not long after, swinging his scythe wildly in a series of fast, deft attacks.
A thump rang through the air.
Wilbur's long sword could not withstand the increasing pressure and shattered before turning into rampant spiritual energy.
The man let out a wild peal of laughter, pouncing on Wilbur even more fiercely.
With no other choice, Wilbur brought out the historical halberd.
