Wilbur hurriedly yelled, "Stop!"
Charlie unwillingly withdrew his spiritual energy. Elise and the others looked traumatized as if they escaped death. They looked at Charlie fearfully.
They were people with status, so they also knew about cultivators.
However, it was the first time they encountered such a powerful cultivator. They could not believe that Wilbur was able to order Charlie around.
They wondered about his identity, and they could not figure out why he was so outstanding.
Wilbur looked at Elise and scratched his head. He said, "Some things are complicated to explain. How about I explain to you in the future when I'm free?"
"No, you have to clarify things right now," Elise insisted.
Lindon and the others also wanted to know what happened. They all focused on Wilbur.
Wilbur frowned and wondered how he should explain the situation.
He felt like if he said he forcefully convinced Hans, it would seem like a brag. That was not his style.
Suddenly, a loud roar could be heard from the west side of the sea. Terrifying spiritual energy spread from the sea at the same time. It kept washing over Morburn.
Wilbur was surprised. Charlie's expression soured immediately and said, "It's the sea monster. It's going to come ashore."
"What's that?" asked Wilbur puzzlingly.
Charlie quickly explained, "It's a sea monster. I fought that thing in the sea for years and it was a tie. By the looks of it, it wants to come ashore. Once it does, Morburn will be destroyed. I don't know how many people will die from this."
"Let's check it out," said Wilbur without hesitation.
He would not allow any monsters to destroy human civilization regardless of where he was. Protecting the people was the responsibility of every cultivator.
