The sudden turn of events was probably because of something major that happened.
The head of security, Harry, quickly came to Brandon and whispered in his ear. Brandon instantly looked worried, and he hurriedly looked at Wilbur.
"What's wrong?" asked Wilbur while frowning.
Brandon did not care that there were bystanders. He quickly replied, "There are thousands of armed men surrounding the stadium, and they circling in on us. Our squad had retreated, and all phone signals were cut off."
Wilbur checked his phone. His phone, which had the satellite function, also lost its signal.
"Is this an armed coup?" asked Wilbur while looking at Brandon.
With thousands of armed men attacking the stadium where the president was and having all signals cut off, there was a high probability of an armed coup.
Brandon nodded and replied, "It should be. According to our sources, the Fastes are behind this. Their leader is the minister of defense, Abar Faste. They are a powerful family in Morburn. Most of them are in the army."
"It seems they came prepared," said Wilbur nonchalantly.
Brandon frowned and said anxiously, "They dared to stage a coup because Atrus Wood is dead. I underestimated them."
"Don't worry, Mister President. We have Mister Wilbur Penn with us. They can't threaten your safety," said Dillon while observing Wilbur carefully.
Wilbur smiled and said, "Don't worry. We are friends now. I naturally won't stand idly by if anything happens to you."
Brandon instantly let out a long sigh of relief and said gratefully, "Thank goodness you're here, sir. Otherwise, I wouldn't know what to do. You know, in order to meet you in time, I didn’t have time to deploy comprehensive security."
Wilbur smiled. Meanwhile, the news quickly spread in the banquet hall.
