Over in the yard, the old lady Wilbur had seen before seemed surprisingly calm when she saw him. It was as if she was not scared by Wilbur's breaking in in the slightest.
She waited until Wilbur came up to her and said, "Are you not even going to let an old woman like me go? Are you planning to kill me too?"
Wilbur knew at once that she had mistaken his stance and who he was, probably thinking that he was an assassin the Tomazes had sent over.
Wilbur shook his head. "Ma'am, I think you've been mistaken. While I do have a lot of blood on my hands, every last one of those people deserved to die. I'm here because someone sent me over to look into the Andika incident. I've just recorded evidence of Darren Tomaz admitting to illegally supervising you and your family and came to tell you this. It's best if you come with me if you really want to avenge your family. I'm worried Darren might try and harm you after informing his superiors."
He paused for a breath, then continued, "You must know that the vengeance between the Tomaz family will completely disappear if anything happens to you. Those horrible killers will still get to carry on living their lives and bringing harm to even more people. Do you want that to happen? Are you sure you're alright with that?"
Tears streamed down the old woman's face at those words. She seemed to be struck with grief for a long time before finally speaking, "Well, how am I supposed to know that they didn't send you to take away whatever's left that I have?"
