"I'm going to stay in Fenler for just one more day. Feel free to come looking for me if that person you're working for has a change of mind!"
Wilbur put the fruits back into the cart neatly as he said those words, then left with Monica and Betty to look for a hotel to stay the night.
After doing so, the two women wanted to talk to Wilbur about whether or not the young man's words could be trusted.
"Mister Penn, do you really believe that young man? Lacey and Eliana were kidnapped. How is it possible for them to look so carefree and happy in the photo? Could that photo be a fake? These people might be trying to use you to kill someone for them!"
Monica sat on Wilbur's bed in her nightgown that hugged her curves, but her tone was solemn as she spoke of the young man they had run into earlier.
"Exactly, Mister Penn! I feel like that man's up to no good. Who knows if these people haven't actually kidnapped our daughters, and they're just trying to use you!"
Betty piped up as well, seeming to agree with Monica.
"No, he wasn't lying, but you were right about one thing—they are trying to use me! Of course, I could tell from the guy's words that they might just be trying to use me to gain power over Mondorra considering how powerful he is. I'm just not sure if these people are from other factions trying to overthrow Mondorra's power, or if they're actually Mondorra's own men going against him. Also, we need to confirm whether Lacey and Eliana really did end up getting sent to Mondorra by Rabbick's men!"
Betty and Monica could hardly respond to Wilbur's series of deductions.
The two women feared even regular hooligans with next to no power, let alone someone like Mondorra. They exchanged glances nervously and promptly shut up.
