Tina had not seen Kyra all morning, and she did not return for lunch either.
Wilbur saw how worried Tiina was and comforted her. "Don't worry, Kyra's not a child. She's probably just gone out for work. She'll be back when she's done."
"Okay," said Tina, her eyes teary. "Maybe I'm overthinking it. She really is like a sister to me."
Tina called Kyra once more in the afternoon. Kyra picked up this time, her voice sounding weak. "Hello, Tina? I'm out for work. Is anything the matter?"
"Are you alright, Miss Kyra? You don't sound too well, are you sick?" said Tina.
"Oh, I'm alright. I'm just really tired from working all morning. I'll be fine with a bit of rest. I'll be back by dinner, okay? I'm going to end the call if there's nothing else now."
"Alright."
Tina nodded, hanging up the phone.
Over on the balcony of a tall building in east Aidementon, Kyra hung up the phone. She backed off the edge of the balcony, kneeling on the ground and sobbing to herself.
Kyra had thought that she would be able to change her life by joining the Scarlet Leaf Faction, and even allowing her to help the lives of others. Yet now Damon had taken advantage of her, and Kyra felt like the entire world had lied to her.
Had Tina not called, Kyra would have already jumped off that balcony. She wiped at her tears, not understanding how this could have happened to her. Did the Green Leaf Faction not fear the Scarlet Leaf Faction at all?
If that was the case, what was even the point of her joining the Scarlet Leaf Faction? Kyra sobbed loudly until a call came in from Paul.
