Wilbur let out a sigh of relief when he heard that. Since the man was someone sent by Fremont, there was nothing to be afraid of. He could proceed if he defeated the guy.
"Not bad. You must be my peer since you learned from Fremont, but you're not qualified yet."
"Oh yeah?"
Wilbur landed from above. He looked around and asked, "How would you like to battle?"
A tree behind Wilbur suddenly moved after he asked. The branch whipped toward Wilbur, so he quickly dodged. However, the tree next to him also moved and attacked him with its branch.
Wilbur dodged continuously, but he was in the forest which was full of trees. It was hard to dodge the tree attacks no matter how agile he was. In the end, a branch smacked Wilbur on the back, ripping his shirt open and sending him crashing to the ground.
He coughed and felt the snow melt in his mouth. He heard the voice again, "My powers are superior to yours. Moreover, you're in the forest. It would be unfair if I battled you myself. That was a lesson for you. Now, let me tell you something. I raised nine snow wolves in this primal forest. You will pass my test if you can defeat them. Of course, you can beg for help if you can't make it. I only have one condition."
