Wilbur realized then that the locations of the first eight Dragon Cauldrons were reflected by their corresponding dragons in the Nine Dragons Painting. These clues were just cleverly hidden.

Now that he had gone through the hurdles before, Wilbur finally realized the brilliance of this painting. Half of the topmost dragon was hidden in the clouds, with only its claws and tail showing. There were no other references or hints to be seen.

The clouds were at the top of the painting, and every dragon had its clouds. Thus, the clouds would not be a hint to where the ninth dragon cauldron was, but its claws and tail that were exposed were.
